A most interesting late medieval Silver Pfennig of Salzburg. Struck on a square planchet with some original luster present. Possibly from a small hoard discovered long ago. Issued for Archbishop Eberhard II, who ruled, 1200-1246. Eberhard is within a cartouche on the obverse holding a sceptre. Reverse has the Archbishop between two towers. The coin measures 16 mm. on each side. Cataloged as Pr-14. We will begin at .
